Founded in 1972, the Spanish University of Cordoba has three campuses: the Rabanales campus, the Health Sciences campus and the Legal & Social Sciences Campus. The university is well-regarded for its Agriculture & Forestry teaching, which is ranked as the joint fourth-best in Spain, in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2017. The Food and Agriculture, Science and Technology area has been further consolidated with the Agrifood Campus of International Excellence (CeiA3), and the creation of the Rabanales 21 Science and Technology Park, or The Maimonides Institute for Biomedical Research of Cordoba (IMIBIC). The research activities of the scientific groups cover all fields related to Agrifood, from economical or legislative aspects to those which are related to the improvement and optimization of resources for the vegetal or animal production. UCO has ranked excellently in the “2012 Performance Ranking of Scientific Papers for World Universities” released by the National Taiwan University Ranking (NTU Ranking 59 in “Agricultural Sciences”).

Founded in 1925, Ankara University sustains its pioneering identity being the first university of the Republic of Turkey through its qualified scientific research and education studies. It derives its power from its historical background with 18 faculties, 1 conservatory, 1 college, 11 vocational schools, 14 institutions, 49 research and application centres which totally include 333 masters and 246 PhD programmes given by almost 5 000 academic staff to almost 68 000 students. It is well-regarded for its strong and leading position in Agricultural Sciences education, which is ranked as the first best in Turkey. The first Agriculture College was established in 1846 which was converted into Faculty of Agriculture in 1933. It is pioneer in agriculture, environment and life sciences today with 550 acres of campus, research and training farms, greenhouses, dairy pilot plant, agricultural products plant, coops, animal shelters, and research stations.

tsenso was founded in 2016 to make internet of things technologies available for large and especially small-scale cool chain monitoring solution. In the first two years, tsenso has grown from 2 to 7 employees. In 2018 tsenso generated a turn-over of 330.000 € and a net profit of 30.000 €. Currently the tsenso head-quarter is located in Stuttgart, Germany. A new subsidiary for software development was established in Barcelona, Spain. Tsenso is dedicated to digitalizing and revolutionize the current food safety processes. Currently tsenso is ranked by the international start-up evaluation site tracxn.com as one of the Germany’s top ten agri-food startups.

Migros Ticaret A.Ş. was founded in 1954 in İstanbul through the joint initiatives of the Swiss Migros Cooperatives Union and the İstanbul Municipality. Migros is a technology pioneer food retail chain with a broad experience on retail intelligence, customer analytics, campaign management, supply chain operations and e-commerce. Migros IT & Business Development Department (Migros IT) is a strategic unit comprising of software development, business development and process management, and innovative technologies development groups. Currently 106. Engineers mainly from computer and information sciences, electric and electronics and industrial engineering fields are working at Migros IT. Migros IT has been accredited as “R&D Centre” since September 2013 by Turkish Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology. Department’s ongoing projects focus on new services and products innovation, supply-chain improvement, revenue management, data and customer analytics. Migros IT has collaborations with universities and R&D companies (i.e. Bosphorus University, Sabanci University, Koc University, MEF University, Marmara University, University of Bilboa, University of Cordoba, Wageningen
University, CSIC).

The National Agency of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (ANPMA) is a scientific research, development and innovation establishment created in 2002. It is composed of several laboratories, Botany, Agrotechnie, Phyto-Biotechnology, Phytochemistry and analytical chemistry, Pharmacology – Toxicology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Quality Control Laboratory and a technological hall with several applications (drying, distillation,
extraction and formulation). The search for new natural bioactive molecules for therapeutic affinity and industrial applications represent one of the major axes of the activities of the agency.

The Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University (USMBA) is considered one of the oldest universities in Morocco Kingdom. It was created in 1975. The institutions under the University are located on four campuses. It is now ranked among the largest universities in the Kingdom by the number of students it hosts, the number of fields of study and specialization it offers. The field of food and agriculture, science and technology has been consolidated with the competence center where the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST-Fez), the Faculty of Science (FS) and the Faculty of Medicine (FMP-Fez). The research activities of the scientific groups cover all areas related to agri-food, nutritional aspects and those related to improvement or optimization of resources for crop or livestock production. USMBA ranked very well in the national and international rankings.
